The map shows elevation contours of 10m; riding area is on the hill southwest of the marker on the map.

Required Dress: From the IUF Rulebook – Section 2.19.1, the required dress is:
"For all MUni events, riders must wear shoes, kneepads, gloves/wristguards and helmets (definitions, Section 1.23). The IUF allows no exceptions to this for MUni events. Additional equipment such as shin, elbow or ankle protection are optional."

Unicycles: There are no restrictions on unicycles for MUni – any wheel size, any crank size. Geared unicycles are also allowed.

Dismounts And Dismounted Riders: Dismounts will be allowed in all events, with additional rules defined in each section. From the IUF Rulebook – Section 2.19.2:
"Dismounts are allowed in all MUni races unless otherwise noted. In mass-start events, dismounted riders must yield to mounted riders behind them as quickly as possible after a dismount, and until re-mounted. Riders may not impede (interfere) the progress of mounted riders when trying to mount. If necessary they must move to a different location so mounted riders can pass. If riders choose not to ride difficult sections of the course, they must not pass any mounted riders while walking or running through them. In time trial-type events, see below for variations based on the other event details. Violations of these non-riding rules may result in disqualification or a time penalty, to be determined and announced before the race start. Riders must also ride completely across the finish line, as described in Section 2.6."

Age Groups: There will not be a 0-10 age category for 20" wheels. The age groups are final:
Female: 0-13, 14-15, 16-19, 20+
Male:  0-13, 14-15, 16-19, 20-25, 26-35, 36+

Awards: Each male and female who places 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in their age group for each of the four events will be awarded a medal. There will not be an Expert Award for any of the individual events, as each race counts for the overall MUni Champion.

Overall MUni Champion: This title will be awarded to the male and female who earn the most points in the MUni events (Uphill, Downhill, Cross Country, and North Shore Downhill). The best finishers combined from the four MUni events detailed below will win this title.

Calculating the MUni Champion: Points are assigned for placement in each of the races, based upon best times (Uphill or Downhill), best finishing place (Cross Country), or best score (North Shore Downhill). 1st place gets 8, 2nd place 5, 3rd place 3, 4th place 2, and 5th place 1. Highest total points score is the World Champion; one each for male and female. If there is a tie, the rider with the most first places wins. If this still results in a tie, the title goes to the better finisher in the Downhill.

Award for the MUni Champion: Each male and female who places 1st, 2nd, or 3rd overall will be awarded a trophy. There will not be any awards for the overall champion in an age group.

General Information about the MUni area: The area is in the country in Sweden, however there is a small shop that will be selling drinks and sandwiches (payment accepted in Danish kroner, Swedish kroner, and Euro). Public toilets also available. Water for drinking will be provided for free. Unicyclists who are not competing in the MUni events will be allowed to ride in the area provided they stay clear of competition routes; these unicyclists are required to wear the same protective gear as the competitors. To get to the top of the Downhill, North Shore or top of the Uphill course, there is a T-bar lift. This is operated by sitting on your unicycle, pedalling but letting the T-bar do all the work. See pictures for examples.

Downhill

Start: There will be mass starts of approximately 25 in each group. Competitors who are attempting to win the Overall MUni Champion title (the fastest riders) need to make sure they notify the Starting Official so they are placed at the front of their starting group.

Length: Over 500m in length with approximately 130m vertical descent on grass and double track in a curving path.

Dismounted riders: This race will use the definition from the IUF Rulebook, Section 2.19.4.1 "Dismounted Riders, Downhill"
"In Downhill races, riders are not allowed to run and the unicycle must be pushed and touching the ground at all times (lifted over extreme terrain or obstacles). Walking over the terrain can be done only a maximum of 10 meters at any time unless otherwise noted. Walking is defined as having at least one foot on the ground at all times."

Officials: There will be at least fifteen officials along the path making sure riders do not run if they fall. These officials will be notifying riders if they attempt to run, with possible disqualification to any who attempt to run.

Uphill

Start: There will be mass starts of ten riders in each group. Riders start either holding each other, standing behind unicycle, or hopping/idling. It is also allowed to have a person assist as a starting post at the start. No running starts are allowed.

Length: Approximately 150m in length, about 40m vertical climb on a grassy area. Lanes will be marked for where the riders must go, which will be approximately 20m wide at the beginning, 2-10m wide from about 20m to near the end, and 3m wide at the top to force riders on a specific path.

Dismounted riders: This race will use the definition from the IUF Rulebook, Section 2.19.3.1 "Dismounted Riders, Uphill"
"In the event of a dismount, the rider must remount the unicycle:
a) At the point where the dismount occurred if the unicycle falls back down the course toward the start.
b) Where the unicycle and/or rider come to a stop after dismounting. Excessive running/walking/stumbling after a dismount may be grounds for a penalty at the discretion of race Referee.
c) Riders may also choose to back up (toward the start line) from one of those spots to remount, if they prefer the terrain there."
Riders may attempt a section as often as they wish, but if unable to ride a section, the rider will be disqualified and the race official will notify the finish line of the disqualification. The rider will not be required to walk to the finish line after being disqualified.

Cross Country

Start: Mass start of ALL riders. Competitors who are going for the Overall MUni Champion title (the fastest riders) need to make sure they notify the Starting Official so they are placed at the front of the group.

Length: Almost 2km in length. All distances in the following description are approximate. The start is on a gentle downhill double track for over .5km. Then another .5km on a gravel road. The next .3km is uphill on double track (35m of climbing), followed by .2km downhill on both a smaller double track and grassy area. There is .1km on gravel, including a slightly challenging rocky section. .15km of uphill on grassy area with 15m of elevation, and the finish is another 50m downhill.

Dismounts: This race will use the definition from the IUF Rulebook, Section 2.19.4.1 "Dismounted Riders, Downhill"

Timing: Finish order only.

North Shore Downhill

Start: Each competitor will run individually through the course, with two minutes between each start. There will be a starting list with a time for each competitor. The starting  list will be provided to competitors with their registration materials. Riders who do not start at their pre-assigned time will be disqualified.

Length: Approximately 500m in length, with difficult obstacles.

Starting List: There will be a starting list order for competitors.

Dismounts: At each obstacle, there will be a set of judges to observe. Each rider will get a maximum of two (2) chances to do the obstacle. If they fail to complete the obstacle two times, they must move on to the next obstacle. If a rider fails to complete an obstacle the first time and wants to attempt a second time, they must let any oncoming riders take their first attempt before beginning their second attempt. If a rider chooses to skip an obstacle, it will count as two attempts (or a failed obstacle).
Dismounts which occur in between the marked obstacles will use the definition from the IUF Rulebook, Section 2.19.4.1 "Dismounted Riders, Downhill"

Obstacles: Before any MUni events begin, there will be a walk through the North Shore course for the competitors with explanations given by the Race Director. Competitors will not be allowed to try any obstacles either during the official walk through or at any time before their official run. There will be between ten and twenty obstacles over the full course, with specific start and end points marked. Obstacles will include:
            - Teeter board with a very steep landing area
            - A hand-built ramp up onto a thin board, then onto a 15m long log and a drop-off less than one meter
            - 1m drop-off of a rock with a steep downhill landing area
            - 10m long single track area with roots and rocks
            - .5m dropoff with a 10m landing area on rough ground
            - ramp onto a bridge and then down a 1.5m drop-off
            - 10m long skinny
            - 20m long area with large rocks
            - hand-built humps
            - steep rocky downhill
            - 10m long very steep rocky downhill
            - 1m drop with an easy landing

Winner: The winner will be the unicyclist who finishes the most obstacles. If there is a tie in the number of obstacles, then the winner will be the one with the least amounts of tries, then if still a tie the fastest time will be used to determine the winner.
Example: There are nine obstacles total and Kristian completes nine obstacles, two obstacles he missed on the first try but is successful on the second attempt for his total time of 2:20 minutes. Kristian's number of attempts is 11 (9 total obstacles + 2 extra tries) and his score is: 9 obstacles / 11 attempts / 2:20 minutes.
Thomas also finishes all nine obstacles, but six of these were completed on the second attempt for a total time of 2:20 minutes and a final score of: 9 obstacles / 15 attempts / 2:20 minutes.
Jesper completes nine obstacles, and similar to Kristian had to use the second attempt on two obstacles for a total time of 3:30 minutes for a score of: 9 obstacles / 11 attempts / 3:30 minutes.
The final placing is:
            1st place = Kristian (9 obstacles / 11 attempts / 2:20 minutes)
            2nd place = Jesper (9 obstacles / 11 attempts / 3:30 minutes)
            3rd place = Thomas (9 obstacles / 15 attempts / 2:20 minutes)
