Flatland and Street Comp at Unicon XIV

Street Comp Preliminary: Monday, 28 July at 13:00 at the Sondermark School.
Street Comp Finals: Tuesday, 29 July at 14:30 at the Sondermark School.
Flatland: Wednesday, 30 July at 13:00 at the Sondermark School..
Rules for Competition: The IUF Rulebook (version 2008), Sections 3 and 4 will be used. Rulebook
Required Dress: From the IUF Rulebook – Section 3.5, the required minimum dress for the Street Comp is shoes, kneepads, gloves, and helmets. There is not any required safety gear for Flatland.
Street Comp Runs: The Preliminary Run will be only 1.5 minutes for all competitors. All Female competitors will have a second run of 2-minutes, but only the top six Jr Expert Male and the top ten Expert Males will continue to the 2-minute final round. Both runs will be scored to determine the winners.
The order of competition will be: Initial run of Jr Male, Expert Female, Expert Male on Monday; then the Final run of Jr Male, Expert Female, Expert Male on Tuesday
Street Comp Obstacles: There are required obstacles and other obstacles will be provided (to be determined at Unicon) The required minimum obstacles are:
- a two-revolution manual pad (a smooth platform of at least 3m x .5m and between 7cm and 15cm in height)
- stair set (at least 90cm high with a horizontal base extension of at least 90cm; minimum tread of 25cm and minimum riser of 17cm. Minimum of 2-revolutions of run-up space in front)
- a ledge for grinding that is at least 6 feet long and has metal coping, and wide enough to grind with the whole crank and pedal. Often this would be best down a bank, but make sure that both left and right footed riders have access to it — this can be achieved by putting it in the middle of the bank, or having an up-flat-down ramp with ledges on both banks.
Flatland: Competitors have a time limit of 2 minutes.
Competition Categories: There will be Female Expert and Male Junior Expert (ages 0-14) and Expert (all ages). Any rider who is age 0-14 and wishes to compete for the title of World Champion will need to compete in the Expert Category.
Awards: Each male and female who places 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in the Expert category will be awarded a trophy. Each male and female who places 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in the Junior Expert category will be awarded a medal.
