Hockey at Unicon XIV

Date and Location: Monday, 28 July (from morning until late afternoon), Tuesday, 29 July (from morning until late afternoon), Wednesday, 30 July (from morning until late afternoon). All preliminary games will be in Hall 2 in the Fredriksberg Sports Centre. The final game in the A league will be on Friday, 1 August in Hall 1.

A league – Tournament and Number of Games: Undecided at this time.

B league – Tournament and Number of Games: Undecided at this time.

Size of Playing Field: Depending on the final size of the barriers, the playing field will be approximately 20x40m.

Rules for Hockey: The IUF Rulebook (version 2008), Section 8 will be used.

Length of Games: Length of games for B League and preliminary games of the A Leauge are undecided. The semi-final and final games for the A league will have two 15-minute periods, separated by a five-minute break.

Referees: Each team must provide two referees who must be trained at a Hockey Referee Workshop. These two referees can be players from the team or two other individuals who are present at Unicon.

Number of Players:  Each team is allowed a maximum of ten players, but only five can be playing at one time.

Unicycles: Unicycles must not have sharp or protruding parts anywhere which might cause injuries. This refers especially to quick-release levers and bolts. The pedals must be plastic or rubber.

Required Dress: From the IUF Rulebook – Section 8.2.2, all players of a team must wear shirts of the same color. The color must be clearly different from the opponent’s color and each team should have two different colored sets of shirts.

Awards: Each team which places 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in the A League will be awarded one trophy. In addition, each of the players in the top three teams in the A League will receive a medal. Each player in the B League who are on a team which  places 1st, 2nd, or 3rd will also receive a medal.
