Slow Forward and Slow Backward Races at Unicon XIV
Date and Location: Sunday, 3 August at the Stadium, from 9:00 to 17:00.
Rules for Racing: The IUF Rulebook (version 2008), Section 2 will be used. In addition, Section 2.18.2 " 10m Slow Race" and Section 2.18.3 "10m Slow Backward" will be used.
Unicycles: There are no limitations on wheel size or crank size for this event.
Required Dress: From the IUF Rulebook – Section 2.3, the required minimum dress is shoes, kneepads and gloves.
Age Groups: Additional age groups may be added, however the age groups for slow forward and slow backward races will be the same as used for all points races. The age groups are subject to change, however when using the data from 12 March, the estimated age groups are:
Female: 0-10, 11-13, 14-15, 16-18, 19-29, 30+
Male: 0-10, 11-13, 14-18, 19-29, 30+
Awards: Each male and female who places 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in their age group will be awarded a medal. The slowest three male and female riders overall, the Slow Forward World Champions and the Slow Backward World Champions, will also receive a trophy.
